Experts and managers have discussed a lot about human resources for AI development – the field considered to be the core of the 4.0 industrial revolution.

Four years recruiting 3 employees

According to Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Bui The Duy, in Vietnam since 2014, the AI ​​segment has been included in the list of high technologies prioritizing development investment, which is the spearhead of the 4.0 technology revolution.

However, in fact, according to Ngo Thi Ngoc Lan – regional director of Navigos Search North, the demand for human resources for AI of businesses has increased but the number of training has not been met.

“Many businesses have to actively look for universities to coordinate training and find human resources. Not only is there a shortage of employees, but people in this field tend to jump quickly. This is a headache for employers, ”said Lan.

In addition, Vietnamese businesses also face stiff competition, attracting information technology human resources from foreign enterprises.

A survey conducted by Navigos Search North on information technology candidates shows that 70-80% of candidates want to skip jobs, more than 50% say they will go to work abroad if invited. Nearly 60% of businesses Recruiters in this field argue that their biggest difficulty is the manpower issue, then the data and call for investment.

According to Tran Hong Thang – director of data management board of VietinBank, this unit takes 4 years to recruit 3 positions, but all are not professional.

The representative of Viettel Group (Viettel) also said that Viettel has many problems that need to be solved by AI technology. However, the human resources are in short supply, the network has to find universities to attract excellent students, but not many.

Moreover, many students, although excellent in information technology, have a limited understanding of Viettel and its problems. Therefore, Viettel is focusing on internal training.

Start lo training

In order to meet the human resource needs for AI, though, Vietnamese universities have begun to seriously invest in human resource training in this field. FPT University has opened an AI training industry. This year, Hanoi University of Technology also opened this major.

And Professor Ho Tu Bao, John von Neumann Institute – Vietnam National University Ho Chi Minh City, said that with domestic training, Vietnam should attract Vietnamese talents who are working on AI for the world’s leading corporations such as Google. , Microsoft, building a network of Vietnamese AI experts worldwide, to mobilize human resources for the development of Vietnam’s AI industry.
